Lance's Straight Mate
Eonline.com
Lance Dance: Lance Bass was announced as one of the contestants on Dancing With the Stars, but instead of Lancie-pants tangoing with another man (as was rumored), L.B. will be paired up with a woman, Lacey Schwimmer. Why not have a same-sex pairing on the ballroom competish? Gay couples like to swing and salsa, too (we don't know any of them, but surely, they must exist). Or do we need Ellen and Portia to do it in the public eye first until everyone catches on? This is so friggin' lame, though. It's like Will & Grace never existed.

Justin Timberlake Says It's 'Painful' to Hear Himself
http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,410521,00.html
Justin Timberlake may be a megastar, but the "SexyBack" singer still struggles to accept his artistry.
"It's painful for me to either watch or listen to myself," Timberlake told us recently. "But even when you're not fully satisfied with the outcome, that's what makes you hungry. But there is gratification in the fact that you a. make people smile, b. make people dance, c. make people laugh or d. make people make babies."
Baby-making aside, Timberlake has a very unromantic take on the acting arena.
"Acting is a totally different process than music. Music is a study in the romanticizing of human behavior," he explained. "I have found that acting is like the un-romanticizing, that’s not a word, it is the opposite of the romantics of human behavior."
Perhaps JT just needs a good love scene, as it seems the aspiring actor only chooses gritty roles like a drug-dealing gang member in “Alpha Dog," a disfigured Iraq war veteran in “Southland Tales” and a hairy, Speedo-wearing hockey player in “Love Guru."

Play Time for Justin Timberlake and Givenchy
http://uk.fashion.popsugar.com/1890731
Singer-songwriter, producer, actor and all-round crush – Justin Timberlake, has a new gig. The smouldering pin-up is the face of Givenchy's new line of men's fragrances – Play. The Play range, which includes eau de toilette in the signature scent, and a more heady, musky version, entitled Play Intense, launches on 1st September. Justin is starring in a series of black and white adverts, photographed by Tom Monro, which aim to capture the elegance and hedonism of the scent.
Cue Mr Timberlake looking suave, as he lounges on the leather seats of a private jet, or working his special brand of glamour, in the recording studios.
I haven't smelt the scent itself yet, but it's been created by Givenchy's expert 'noses' and mixes top notes of zesty mandarin and bergamot, with a more subtle patchouli, coffee wood and black pepper middle and base.
The iconic bottle, designed by Serge Mansau, is super modern, with an ipod feel. The 'play' and 'rewind' buttons work on the theme of high-tech James Bond-style sophistication. Very va va voom.

Justin Timberlake Snubs Britney Spears?
www.nationalledger.com
Can't we all just get along? In Touch Weekly reports that Britney Spears ventured out for a rare night on the town recently - and ended up in the same club as her ex, Justin Timberlake. On August 14, Britney hit West Hollywood's House of Blues for a Robin Thicke concert and spotted her former beau on a date with girlfriend Jessica Biel.
"Britney was smiling and singing along to songs," a witness says. "She kept eyeing Justin but stopped short of actually walking over to say hello. Justin kept his back to her. She was obviously waiting for him to turn around, but he never did!"
According to the report from In Touch, Britney even watched the couple while Justin gave Jessica a long kiss on the lips. Adds the witness, "When the concert was over, Jessica and Justin left together, and Britney exited in the opposite direction."
All sorts of rumors have been flying back and forth about Justin Timberlake and Britney Spears including a duet. The San Francisco Chronicle reports that has now been denied.

Justin Timberlake's Fashion Flicks
www.eonline.com
Singer turned actor turned fashion guy Justin Timberlake is about to launch a new fall ad campaign for his William Rast clothing line, featuring a series of online film spots.
In the shorts, Mr. SexyBack himself takes on the role of the fictitious William Rast, who is described as "an accomplished rebel with an edgy sense of style," while his girlfriend Birdie, played by model Erin Wasson, is "a strong woman with an unabashed sense of confidence."
What's more, these characters will be "draped in standout pieces from the fall collection."
Lest we forget that these slick flicks are really nothing more than just stylized commercials.

No Duet between Spears and Timberlake!
www.waleg.comReports were flooding the net a few days ago that one of the songs on Britney Spears' upcoming album will be a duet between her and her ex Justin Timberlake. Well, guess what? Turns out those reports were only speculations and are not of any truth!
A rep for Timberlake made things clear to Access Hollywood and told them that there wont be any duet between Britney and Justin! He said: "Justin is not scheduled to be in the recording studio with Britney."
Those two haven't sang together since 2001, when they took to the stage with Aerosmith, Nelly and Mary J. Blige at the 2001 Superbowl.

Chasez praises Spears' comeback
uk.news.yahoo.comFormer 'N Sync star JC Chasez is convinced Britney Spears can revive her music career - because she's 'on the path' to recovering from a string of pitfalls.
Spears has been plagued by personal and professional struggles in recent years, including a custody battle with ex-husband Kevin Federline, admission to a psychiatric facility to treat an alleged bi-polar disorder, and a disappointing career comeback last year.
Just last month, Spears' manager Larry Rudolph confirmed the star is currently recording a new album.
And Chasez insists the new record will be a success.
He says, "As far as Britney getting back in the studio, (it's) obviously a good thing. If she's doing what she loves - because she's had a love for music for such a long time - (then) I'm all for it.
"I'm glad she's pulling it together, because everybody falls down in life at one time or another. The toughest part is, how do you pick yourself up again? It looks like she's on the path to doing that - and it's a good thing to see."
Spears' last album, Blackout, was released in October.

N SYNC - KIRKPATRICK 'SURE' OF 'N SYNC REUNION
www.contactmusic.com
Former 'N SYNC star CHRIS KIRKPATRICK has sparked reports the hitmaking boyband is planning a reunion.
The Bye Bye Bye group disbanded after more than seven years together, taking a "temporary hiatus" in 2002 - reportedly prompted by SexyBack singer Justin Timberlake's desire to pursue a solo career.
But Kirkpatrick, now 36, insists the fivesome hasn't ruled out a comeback - after selling more than 56 million records worldwide.
He says, "Someday, there'll be an 'N Sync reunion, but I don't think the time is right now. Maybe a few years down the road when we have gotten a chance to realise who we are as individuals, we'll get back together as a group and put more music out.
"We get along like brothers. We all love each other - we all care about each other. I'm sure we'll come back."

Justin Timberlake’s Funny Faces
www.celebrity-gossip.net
Every celebrity has his or her own way of dealing with the paparazzi. And last night (August 19), Justin Timberlake flashed a few funny faces much to the delight of the shutterbugs.
The “Cry Me A River” crooner was busying himself out and about in Los Angeles, looking studly in a dark half-button henley shirt with a pair of jeans and sneakers.
Meanwhile, JT recently revealed that, in his opinion, all men are clueless when it comes to dealing with women. “With romantic relationships, just like friendships, it’s all about confidence, connection, and – again, and most important – communication.”
He continued, “But what do I know? I’m just a man and everyone knows we have a learning disability where women are concerned.”

TIMBERLAKE DOESN'T MISS UNIVERSITY DIPLOMA
www.contactmusic.com
JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE is convinced he made the right decision not to attend university - because a college diploma might have stopped him from pursuing pop music.
The 27-year-old star landed a role on the Mickey Mouse Club at the age of 12 before launching his pop career with 1990s boy band 'N Sync, and then finding international stardom as a solo artist.
He says, "I don't (regret not going to college). If I had gone to college, I would never have seen the world. I don't know that... if I would have went to college, I'd have ended up walking out with a degree. So it's probably better that I didn't try."

Airport Photo Shoot: Justin Timberlake's Man Bag
www.jaunted.com
A Super World Traveler doesn't need permission to rock a Gucci bag, even if he's a man. Jessica Biel clearly doesn't mind Justin Timberlake's metro tendencies when they're arriving home from a quick trip to San Francisco.
Biel was in South Carolina earlier this summer filming the new David O. Russell film "Nailed" with Jake Gyllenhaal; she'll start work on the first movie she's producing, "Die A Little," this fall, in which she also stars as "a Hollywood wardrobe assistant with a murky past."
Timberlake has been rumored to be making appearances on Madonna's upcoming world tour, but has committed to no dates yet, although he's playing the Planet Hollywood Casino in October.

'Gone Country' wrangles new cast for second season
www.tennessean.com
Last season on Gone Country, viewers watched as Bobby Brown struggled with sleepwalking issues, Dee Snider from Twisted Sister insulted country music and Maureen McCormick tackled her stage fright to play for live audiences.
Going by ratings, it made for great television — the John Rich-hosted celeb-reality show was the highest rated show in CMT's history. So, the network asked Rich to bring it back for a second season.
Set to air tonight, Gone Country 2 has the same premise as its predecessor: A cast of B-list celebrities compete to see whocan write and perform the best country song, the winner getting their song produced by Rich and sent to country radio. This season's collection: former Skid Row singer Sebastian Bach; Grammy winning singer and actress Irene Cara; 2005 American Idol finalist Mikalah Gordon; Jermaine Jackson; former *NSYNC member Chris Kirkpatrick; and actors Lorenzo Lamas and Sean Young.
"You have all these people from all these walks of life and the only thing they have in common is they love country music and they want to learn about our town and our fans," Rich said of the show. "And if they really cross their fingers hard enough and they really work at it hard enough, they might have a shot at actually connecting with our audience. And to me, that's a great thing. Of course, most of the people who are on Gone Country probably don't have a shot at doing that."
Rich said he chose a "diverse" cast full of big personalities, which are often revealed on the show.
"I don't know if you know this, but Sean Young is French for completely insane," he said. "Then you've got Bach, kind of like the Bobby Brown of this season, where you hear these stories about this guy and you wonder, 'Is he really a monster or is he really just a good ol' guy that gets out of bounds every now and then?' You've got Jermaine Jackson, and to me it doesn't get any bigger than the Jackson 5. That's iconic American music, I don't care who you are."
Those past successes don't help the cast members avoid going through the Gone Country paces. This season, challenges range from a surprise performance on The General Jackson Showboat to playing for prisoners at the Tennessee State Prison in honor of Johnny Cash.
"Me and Marty Stuart took the cast and had them perform live in front of about 800 of the most ravenous inmates you've ever seen in your entire life," he said. "Just imagine 5-foot-11, gorgeous Sean Young, as crazy as she is, walking into a prison with all these inmates looking at her, just drooling. That's over the top."
But Rich said that pales in comparison to other surprises that emerge throughout the season, some of which left even him dumbfounded.
"I was surprised big time when one of the cast members left and didn't come back," said the singer. "I was surprised when someone felt it necessary to punch someone else in the face. That was pretty interesting. But that's what happens when you put too many racehorses in the same stall. Someone is going to get kicked."
Although he didn't get punched in the face, Kirkpatrick said his private nature still made it hard to live with all of his cast mates. He does, however, feel "countrified" after the process.
"I got to meet some really great people and musicians," said the boy bander. "There were so many times I was tested on the show and it was so challenging, but I made it through. I looked at it as a learning experience. I got to work with some great writers, and the song we did is amazing. Sitting back and looking at it, I'm definitely glad I did it."
But was Kirkpatrick's song country enough to convince Rich to name him this season's victor? Rich won't reveal any hints as to which member of the cast he chose. He does say, though, that the contestants and their professional songwriting mentors turn in "without a doubt some extremely good songs."
And there's this: Expect a Gone Country 3.
"If season two does well, I'm fine to do seasons three-10 if it remains fun to me and the audience continues to love it," Rich said. "At the end of the day, this is a show about entertaining country fans and giving them something great to watch, and watching people who don't know anything about country music learning about our format and our town. Then when you realize the thing is getting played on VH-1 and MTV2 — I can't tell you how many times I walk into New York City and people you know do not listen to country music point at me and go, 'Hey man, Gone Country.' Maybe this crazy show is not the best thing we want them to know about country music, but it's something. It perks their interest toward country music, and that guy in the cowboy hat isn't just some redneck. I like his music. That's a step forward to me."
